Purpose

The mission of Muntazim is to give Islamic schools, madrasas, hifz programs and weekend Islamic schools one platform to run their academic and administrative operations, and to connect teachers, parents and students more closely. To achieve this mission, Muntazim offers its services on a SaaS (Software as a Service) model. It helps institutions organize attendance, assignments, grading, student records, announcements and parent communication, so they can make better decisions and serve their communities more effectively.

Privacy Policy

Muntazim is operated by DeenTek Solutions, LLC, Glendale Heights, IL, USA (“Muntazim”, “we”, “us”). Muntazim makes its features available through the muntazim.com website and the Muntazim mobile apps, including the Teacher App and the Parent App (together, the “Services”).

By using the Services, you provide us with certain information, including personally identifiable information, which we collect to provide the Services. If you have any hesitation about providing information to us or having it used in the ways this Privacy Policy describes, you should not use the Services; if you already have an account, you may ask your school or us to close it.

Information We Collect

We collect personal information in the following ways.

Accounts

Teacher, parent, student and administrator accounts are usually created by the school, madrasa or hifz program (the “Institution”) that uses Muntazim. To create an account we need a name, username, email address and password. Without this minimum data, an account cannot be created. Choose a password known only to you and keep it confidential.

Profile Information

Users may add or update profile details such as phone number, home address, city and zip code. Providing information beyond the minimum is up to you, but it helps your Institution reach you and lets you get more out of the Services.

Student and Family Records

Institutions enter and manage student records on Muntazim. Depending on how an Institution uses the Services, these may include:

  1. Student name, gender, date of birth and photo (optional)
  2. Program, grade or class, and enrolled subjects (for example Quran, hifz, Arabic, Islamiyat and general subjects)
  3. Attendance records (present, absent, late, early, half day, off and holidays)
  4. Assignments, submissions, marks, grades and hifz or academic progress
  5. Parent or guardian names and contact details
  6. Enrollment status and the Institution the student belongs to

The Institution decides what student data it collects and is responsible for having the authority or consent to provide it to us.

Teacher Records

For teachers we store the classes and subjects assigned to them, their own daily check-in and check-out times, and the attendance, assignments and grades they record.

Messages and Communications

When teachers and parents use in-app chat, or when staff send emails and announcements through Muntazim, we store those messages to deliver them. Chat messages are encrypted in storage and decrypted only for display in the app.

Customer Service

We collect information when you contact us so we can respond to your inquiry and investigate breaches of our terms.

Using the Muntazim Website and Apps

We receive information when you use the Services, such as features used, the device type, operating system, app version, crash reports and diagnostic logs. We use third-party services such as Google Firebase for sign-in, messaging and app stability.

Cookies and Local Storage

The muntazim.com website uses cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. A “session” cookie expires when you close your browser; a “persistent” cookie keeps you signed in between visits. You can block or remove cookies in your browser settings, though some features may then stop working.

The mobile apps store data on your device, such as your session and, if you choose “Remember me”, your login details. This data is cleared when you log out. Muntazim does not store unencrypted personally identifiable information in cookies.

How We Use Personal Information

Consent to Processing

Information provided to Muntazim may reveal a person’s age, gender, family relationships, academic performance and other aspects of their life. By creating an account or adding details to a profile, you voluntarily accept this Privacy Policy and allow Muntazim to process that information to provide the Services. You may withdraw consent at any time by asking your Institution or us to close your account; withdrawal is not retroactive.

We use information to:

  • Let Institutions manage classes, attendance, assignments, grades and student progress
  • Let teachers and parents communicate and stay informed about a student’s learning
  • Deliver school feeds, announcements, emails and notifications
  • Provide customer support, keep the Services secure and fix problems
  • Improve the Services using aggregated, non-identifying usage data

Muntazim Communications

We and your Institution may contact you by email, in-app messages, push notifications, notices on the website or SMS. These include service messages about how the Services work, which you cannot opt out of while you have an account. Where we send promotional messages, you may opt out at any time. Standard carrier charges for messages on your mobile device are your responsibility.

Advertising

Muntazim does not show third-party advertising in the Teacher or Parent apps and does not use student data for advertising or marketing profiles.

Sharing Information with Third Parties

Muntazim takes the privacy of its users seriously. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. Information is shared only as described below:

  • Within your Institution:administrators and teachers see the records they need for their role; parents see information about their own children.
  • Service providers:trusted vendors that host data or provide sign-in, messaging, email and crash reporting (such as Google Firebase), bound to protect the data and use it only for our Services.
  • Legal reasons:when reasonably necessary to comply with subpoenas, court orders or other legal process; to enforce our terms; to respond to claims that content violates the rights of others; or to protect the rights, property or safety of Muntazim, our users or the public.
  • Change of control:if DeenTek Solutions, LLC or Muntazim is sold, merged or restructured, user information may transfer to the new owner, who must continue to protect it under this Privacy Policy.

We may share aggregated, anonymous usage data that does not identify any person or Institution.

Polls and Surveys

Muntazim or your Institution may invite you to take part in polls or surveys. Participation is entirely voluntary. We will not disclose personally identifiable information from polls or surveys to third parties without your explicit consent.

School Feeds and Shared Content

Announcements and posts shared through school feeds are visible to the people your Institution selects. Users can share feed posts outside the app using the share option. Information you post may be seen, copied or used by those who can view it, and Muntazim cannot guarantee that others have not made copies.

Your Rights and Choices

Access, Correction and Deletion

You have the right to access, modify, correct and delete the information you have given to Muntazim. Teachers can update their profile in the app under Profile > Edit Profile. Parents can ask their Institution to correct student records. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting your Institution or Muntazim customer service; we will respond within 30 days. Information you have shared with others, such as messages, may remain visible to them.

Data Retention

Muntazim keeps information while an account is active or as long as the Institution needs it to provide its services, for example to maintain academic and attendance records. We also keep information as necessary to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When an Institution ends its subscription, we delete or anonymize its data within a reasonable period unless the law requires us to keep it.

Closing Your Account

You can close your account by contacting your Institution or Muntazim customer service. When an account is closed, we remove the user’s personally identifiable information from active use. We may keep certain data where necessary to prevent fraud or abuse, for account recovery, for legitimate business purposes such as analysis of aggregated non-identifying data, or where required by law. Messages already sent to other users may remain in their inbox. Backup copies may persist for a limited time before being overwritten.

Logging Out

When you log out of a Muntazim mobile app, saved credentials, session data and cached information are cleared from your device.

Your Obligations

As a user, you agree to:

  • Follow this Privacy Policy and the Muntazim Terms of Use, including respecting the intellectual property rights of others.
  • Not upload or share content that is dangerous, violent, offensive, racist, xenophobic or against the purpose and spirit of Muntazim and its educational community.
  • Use student and family information only for legitimate educational purposes within your Institution.
  • Keep your username and password confidential and not share them with others.

Violations may lead to restriction, suspension or termination of your account at Muntazim’s discretion.

Children's Privacy

Muntazim serves schools, madrasas and hifz programs, so many records relate to children. Student information is provided and controlled by the Institution, which is responsible for obtaining any parent or guardian consent required by law. Children under 13 may not create their own Muntazim accounts; their information is managed by the Institution and their parents or guardians. Parents may review, correct or ask for deletion of their child’s information by contacting the Institution or us. We do not sell children’s data or use it for advertising.

Security

Access to data on Muntazim is password-protected. Data is encrypted in transit using SSL/TLS, and in-app chat messages are encrypted in storage. We regularly review our systems for vulnerabilities and use secured, access-controlled hosting. However, no system on the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by a breach of our physical, technical or managerial safeguards. Protecting your login details is your responsibility. Please avoid sending highly sensitive information, such as financial or medical details, through chat or email.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make significant changes to how we handle personal information, we will post a notice on muntazim.com or in the app, or email you, so you can review the changes before continuing to use the Services. Unless stated otherwise, the current Privacy Policy applies to all information Muntazim holds about you. Continuing to use the Services after a notice of changes means you accept the updated terms.
